This is the first time that I am going to write a review for American Idol. Tonight's show was very interesting for me. However, I'm not really fond of
disco. Anyway, here's my review.
I'm Every Woman- Lil RoundsI'm not really a fan of hers and I don't like her that much. I mean, fine. She can sing but there is nothing that is
surprising in her performance. It's like it's too...predictable. I agree with what Simon said that at this stage of the competition, the contestants should be able to surprise the judges with their performances. Surprised in a way that they will be really pleased with it. Sorry to her supporters but what I don't like about her is when she gets too defensive whenever the judges did not like her performance. She keeps on saying "
I enjoyed performing tonight blablabla..." Okay. there is nothing wrong with that but I think it's too much already. I always here that every week after her performance. If she just stopped being to defensive and listened to the judges, she could have had a bigger chance of staying in the show. However, I really think she is one of the contestants who will be packing her stuff tomorrow.
She Works Hard for the Money- Kris AllenOMG. I love this guy!
He did great tonight! Okay...I am not being biased here. It's just that it's true. He was awesome while playing his guitar! It might not have sounded like disco but his version was so original! Like Kara said, he took a big risk but it all paid off. I hope he makes it to the finals. :)
September- Danny GokeyAh, yes. That classic disco song from
Earth, Wind & Fire. I thought that that song was kind of
untouchable but I think Danny did fine tonight. It's not his best performance though.
Hotstuff- Allison IrahetaI loved her entrance. Haha. So, okay, Allison is one of my favorite contestants. Aside from the fact that she has a little resemblance of Kelly Clarkson, one of my favorite idols, she has a great singing voice. I mean, for a 16 year old, she must be really good. I remember when I was 16 years old, I can't sing songs that have high notes cos I can't reach them. XD So, anyway, as for tonight, Allison did fine; although her version of this song sounded a bit...weird. So yea, I agree with what Randy and Kara said about the arrangement.
If I Can't Have You- Adam LambertWhoa. Hands down to him! Music is really a gift to Adam. He's very versatile. He can sing any song and make it his own. I like almost all of his performances
EXCEPT '
Ring of Fire'. I was pretty disturbed by that but overall, he's still one of the best performers. I hope he and Kris will make it to the finals. :)
Stayin' Alive- Matt GiraudFor me, Matt did fine on his performance. However, there were some flaws in his tune; but overall, it was okay.
Dim All the Lights- Anoop DesaiI don't know what's wrong with Simon and he became harsh with Anoop tonight. There are 'rumors' spreading that Simon hates Anoop and I've read somewhere that the reason why they used the save on Matt last week was because Simon knew that Anoop would be in the bottom 3 this week and he wouldn't use that save on Anoop. Very controversial, huh? Anyway, Anoop is one of my favorites because he's a good singer; although he has to work a little bit more on his stage presence. For tonight, I think it was a good performance from him
and not to mention, he looked hot.
HAHAHA. So yea, I disagree with Simon for this one. Maybe for him, Anoop did not meet his expectations. I actually have a big feeling that Anoop might also be the one to leave the show tomorrow night but I hope he could still stay.
Well, there goes my first review. I had fun doing this. ^______^
